Booking and Bail in California

Whether a person has been arrested for domestic violence, DUI, DWI or any other offense the process is the same. Persons taken into custody by the Calabasas Police or Sheriff's Department will be held at either the Calabasas Police Station Jail, Sheriff's Station Jail or will be transfered to the Los Angeles County Jail (IRC) and will be kept there until their first court date called the "Arraignment." Bail is allowed to be posted in any facility 24hrs a day, 7 days a week.

Before a bail bond is turned in and accepted, the arrestee must pass a background check through "Live Scan", which is a machine that is linked to a county, state and national database. That database will notify the authorities of any possible holds, warrants, or aliases that might prevent release or increase the total bail amount of an arrestee. Once the results of the Live Scan come back from the various government agencies, that person is then "cleared" to bond out. At this time, a jailor will review and accept a Bail Bond for an arrestee and release them on the Bail Bond.

From the time a Bail Bond is turned in, it takes between 30 minutes and 3 hours for a release depending on the facility where the person is being held. Release times do vary based on the workload of the Calabasas jail's staff as well as the type of facility. Once out, a person will need to complete his or her part of the paper work, take a picture, and make sure to show up to each and every court date thereafter.

More about Calabasas California

More about c

In addition to being bail bonds agents we are proud members of the Calabasas community.

The city of Calabasas, formerly incorporated in 1991, has an estimated population of 23,123 residents as of 2000. The city is home to one of the oldest structures still standing in Los Angeles County, the Leonis Adobe, and adobe structure, built in 1844. In 2006, the city received international attention due to an extensive Secondhand Smoke Control Ordinance which bans smoking in all public places within the city such as, indoor/outdoor businesses, apartment common areas, hotels, parks, restaurants, or anywhere people can be exposed to secondhand smoke. The ordinance has been expanded as of the beginning of 2008, requiring 80% of apartment buildings to be designated permanently as non-smoking units by January of 2010. Every October, the city holds an annual Pumpkin Festival to pay tribute to the cities name meaning 'pumpkin' or 'squash' when derived from the Spanish calabaza. The location of the festival changes every year, but the original festival was to have taken place where a traveling wagon carrying pumpkins tipped and started the first pumpkin patch in the area, according to local legend. Not only is Calabasas home to an annual Pumpkin Festival, but also the first municipal-owned and constructed 'green' civic center in the state. Calabasas has played a leading role in environmental and open space protection in California, recently passing Measure D, an ordinance that protects and preserves any areas of Open Space in the city and requires a two-thirds voter approval for any land designated Open Space to be developed. The city has also passed Ordinance 2007-233, banning the use of food packaging materials made of Styrofoam in all retail food establishments, City facilities and non-profit food providers. Going along with the cities environmentally friendly vibe, they also have an open mind when it comes to religion. The city plays host to a Hindu Temple originally built in August of 1977. The temple complex is visited every year by a large number of Hindus, nit just from the greater Los Angeles area, but all over the world.
